A tsunami swept our globe leaving no soul untouched, unchanged.
Precious moments denied forever to those whose time ran out. Grandchildren unkissed.
Livelihoods and entire industries devastated. Our very way of life bought to its knees.
And still we stumble to rise. Still we look to find our feet.
Blinking into the light of 2021 our broken hearts are filled with hope.
Hope that the wrath will subside.
Hope that the blessings that shone so brightly amongst the devastation lift us up and pull us through.
Hours spent with our children rather than enduring soulless commutes.
Listless days reconnecting with the trees when there was nowhere else to go.
Reconnection with communities. A shared respect for those keeping society moving.
The thawing of our hearts for humanity and for ourselves.
Let us take the seeds of our blessings and plant a new way.
A way that’s balanced, a way that’s kind, a way that’s human.
